Costs

Since you will have to get to Kodiak no matter how you choose to hunt in Kodiak, I will give a general breakdown of costs from the time you get here.  These are the best estimates that I can come up with, but it will be up to you to confirm costs for the dates you are looking at.  As you can see it is not cheap to hunt in Kodiak, but compared to guides that are charging at least $5K/person plus the obligatory tip, you can do a DIY trip for a fraction of what they charge (four guys can easily hunt for what it would cost for one to hunt with a guide) and you can hunt how you want and not have to share an experience with people you don't know...and may not like.

Two guys for a week-

  • Hotel/ AirBnb = $1,000
  • Vehicle Rental = $750
  • Food = $100/day for a total of $700 (you can obviously do this much cheaper if you wanted)
  • Fuel= $100
  • Boat Rental and three dozen decoys = ~$1,700
  • Total of $4,250 ($2125/person)

Three Guys for a Week

  • Air BnB = $1,500
  • Vehicle Rental = $750
  • Food = $150/day for a total of $1,050 (you can obviously do this much cheaper if you wanted)
  • Fuel= $100,
  • Boat Rental and three dozen decoys = ~$1700
  • Total of $5,100 ($1,700/person)
