Ammunition For Sea Ducks

This is something that you don't want to skimp on. I have been blown away at how hard sea ducks can be to kill....even with what appears to be great shots. In my opinion, if you are shooting steel, you should not use anything smaller than #2 shot with BB’s being my preferred shot size. I firmly believe that the best option is to use tungsten (TSS) shot in size 7, 8, or 9...especially since this likely won't be a high-volume hunt. Not only will it kill birds more effectively, the likely hood of damage to the bird will be less (your taxidermist will thank you!!!). I would also suggest that you have some loads with tungsten #9 for swatting cripples-I have found this to be extremely effective at dispatching cripples. These are just guidelines based on my opinions, and you should do research and decide what you think will work best. Although you will likely be able to get ammo in Kodiak (it cannot be guaranteed), I would recommend bringing what you need...especially tungsten ammo.
